“WE THE PEOPLE” ROSE UP AND VOICED OUR OPPOSITION to the direction in which the country is being led by the Obama Administration. On Saturday, September 12 a contingent of members of the PA Coalition from the Pittsburgh area rendezvoused with members from the Harrisburg area and marched down Pennsylvania Avenue. We joined an incredible crowd of like-minded citizens gathered from across the country protesting (among other things):
• Government takeover of the health care system
• Excessive and wasteful spending
• Government takeover of private industries
• $9 trillion in debt
• Erosion of the freedoms and liberties guaranteed to us by the Constitution
• Cap and Trade
The media appeared to ignore us or underestimate the size of the gathering. The latest Navy estimates from satellite images are that 2.1 million patriots were assembled in peaceable protest. See pictures of the DC March:

A SLEEPING GIANT AWAKENS
We met and talked with concerned citizens that travelled to DC from California, Colorado, Montana and elsewhere throughout our great nation. As I marched alongside my brother from Carlisle, he told me that he could never imagine that he would be doing something like this, but that he has been angered so much by the policies and proposals of this Administration that there was no going backward for him, he will continue to fight this march toward Socialism and try to make a difference. This was a common theme that resonated from everyone I talked to – these were regular people who had never been politically active and would never have imagined doing anything like marching in protest, but they have been moved to do this in order to preserve American exceptionalism for their children and grandchildren.
WAS THIS A MARCH OR IS THIS A MOVEMENT?
People like us will answer that question by what we do between now and 2010 and 2012. Will we keep following events and contacting our elected officials? Will we get involved in politics to make our voices heard? Who is more dedicated to their cause ---- The Socialists/Statists or those of us who love freedom and our founding documents?
This next election cycle is critically important to the future of our Nation and we must all work diligently to support those candidates that support the principles of limited government. Please consider running for local office as a committee member of your Party in your Township.
